This has been available since the early 1990s, and Bristol’s own Auto Cosmetic Centre offers this valuable service – in fact a wide range of SMART services – to trade and private customers alike. The systems used by Auto Cosmetic Centre are of the highest quality, applied by qualified technicians, and preserve the integrity of the car’s original finishes. The beauty is they allow localised cosmetic repairs without the need to re-paint entire panels – and that’s what we’re all after.
SMART
SMART repairs minimise costs and allow owners to economically keep their cars’ bodywork and interior in decent, caredfor condition. SMART services include Chiprite, Scuffrite, Bumperrite, Glassrite, Fibrerite and Trimrite.
CHIPRITE deals with stone chips and minor scratch repairs, and is designed to paint the chip rather than the car, so maintaining the integrity of the original factory finish.
SCUFFRITE repairs scuffs on colourcoded bumpers, scratches on panels, grilles, trims and mirrors. It can even cope with cracks and holes, which can be repaired using by specialised welding.
BUMPERRITE is the repair process applied to textured plastic bumpers, wing mirrors and trim. These can all be repaired, re-textured and repainted to a very high standard, and as the repair materials used are flexible, they don’t crack or flake off like conventional paints.
GLASSRITE is designed for the repair of cracks, starbursts and bullseyes in laminated windscreens, and also for polishing out scratches in vehicle glass – both light and deep.
FIBRERITE is a system that permanently repairs cigarette burns, snags, small cuts and tears to velour and most other fabrics. The process leads to strong, permanent and virtually invisible repairs.
TRIMRITE effectively repairs vinyl, plastic and leather upholstery and trim. With an excellent colour-matching system it’s the perfect solution to vandal damage, scuffs, and even mobile phone holes in plastic trim.
 PAINT PROTECTION SYSTEMS
The Auto Cosmetic Centre is particularly proud of Toughseal, a new paintprotection package for both the exterior and the interior of your pride and joy.
This revolutionary advanced acrylic PTFE sealant is proven to protect modern water-based paintwork (used on most new vehicles, and particularly vulnerable) for up to five years.
What exactly does it protect against? UV rays, oxidation, bird droppings, acid rain, fading, diesel fumes, salt and general atmospheric fallout. You’ll find these scourges everywhere – there’s no escaping them.
In a nutshell, with the treatment your paintwork ends up with a tough bonded protective coating that means you NEVER need wax again. How much do you love your car?
AND TOUGHSEAL FOR UPHOLSTERY
There is also a Toughseal treatment for vinyl, leather and fabric upholstery and carpeting. It’s a unique formula that adheres to every fibre of the materials used, protecting against oil and waterbased spills. Liquid simply beads-up on the surface of the material, making it easy to wipe away without leaving stains or dulling fabric.
Vinyl and leather upholstery and dashboards can be damaged by harmful sunlight, but the usual cracking, fading and discolouration can be a thing of the past once the car has had the Toughseal treatment.
ALTERNATIVE PROTECTION FROM PAINTSHIELD
This is a completely risk-free solution to the problem of stone chipping – a virtually invisible, durable film applied to easily damaged areas of bodywork, such as the nose and sills, wheelarches and even the headlamp lense.
Performance-car manufacturers such as TVR are now supplying their cars with such clear coatings in crucial areas; should you see a modern TVR, take a close look and you’ll probably see that it’s nose is covered with protective film. A further benefits of film protection is the ease of cleaning off normally difficult-to-remove dead insects and road-tar spots.
Bristol’s Auto Cosmetic Centre can supply and fit custom-made, computer designed and cut film kits made for specific models of car and motorcycle.
WHEELS AND TYRES TOO
Additional specialised services on offer by the Auto Cosmetic Centre include WheelRite Pro – the alloy-wheel refurbishment and protection system, and Ultra Seal - a tyre-life extender that can stretch life by up to 40 per cent. Ultra Seal is also a permanent puncture preventative, and if you find that hard to believe, it is laboratory-proven by the UK Rubber and Plastics Research Association, as well as being road-proven by Dunlop in Germany.
